The Trust is externally managed by Acrophyte Hospitality Trust Management Pte. Ltd (“REIT-Manager”) and Acrophyte Hospitality Business Trust Management Pte. Ltd. (“Trustee-Manager”), collectively known as the "Managers".

Meet the Managers

The REIT-Manager oversees the assets of ACRO-REIT, managing its assets and liabilities to benefit ACRO-REIT’s unitholders. Its responsibilities include setting ACRO-REIT’s strategic direction and advising the REIT Trustee on asset acquisition, divestment, development and/or and enhancement of the assets according to its investment strategy.

The REIT-Manager has been issued a capital market services license (CMS Licence) for REIT management, pursuant to the SFA on 2 May 2019 and is regulated by MAS.

The Trustee-Manager safeguards the interests of ACRO-BT’s unitholders and it manages ACRO-BT's assets and liabilities for their benefit.

Date of appointment as director of the REIT-Manager: 1 January 2019

Date of appointment as director of the Trustee-Manager: 12 April 2019

Mr. Finch is Managing Partner at Colfaxridge LLP, a business consultancy firm. He was CEO of SRE Capital (2015–2017) and APN Funds Management (2006–2014), overseeing major funds including the ARA Asian Income Fund and APN Asian REIT Fund. Earlier, he served as Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets at DBS Bank (2000–2006), he led Debt Capital Markets, where he managed fixed income and REIT origination. He also advised on REIT listings and various debt offerings. Prior to DBS, Mr. Finch was Head of Asian Debt Origination at ANZ Investment Bank (1997–2000) focusing on emerging market debt and in various divisions at Citibank (1984-1997). 

Mr. Finch holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Texas A&M (1980) and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School (1984).

Randy Allan Daniels
Randy Allan Daniels

Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee

Date of appointment as director of the Managers: 12 April 2019

Mr. Daniels is the Chairman of BWC Terminals and an independent director of JP Morgan REIT. His present directorships include JP Morgan Real Estate Income and Growth Fund (since 2012) and Southwest Water Company (since 2011). He previously served on the JP Morgan International Infrastructure Board (2007-2018), was Chairman of the New York Real Estate Board, and held senior roles at Pickwick Capital Partners LLC and Gilford Securities Inc. A former senior official at the New York State, Department of State (2001 to 2006), he managed a billion-dollar annual budget and approved all waterfront developments. 

Mr. Daniels is a senior Board Leadership Fellow of NACD and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism from Southern Illinois University, U.S. (1973).

Wong Choong Mann

Date of appointment as director: 15 January 2020

Mr. Wong joined the Singapore Police Force in April 1980 as an Inspector of Police and rose to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police in 2008. In 2010, he was assigned to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau under the Prime Minister’s Office as Director of Investigations, where he conducted investigations into corruption offenses in both the public and private sectors until his retirement from public service in November 2017. Following his retirement from the Singapore Civil Service, Mr. Wong took on roles as an associate trainer at the Civil Service College and the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration. He also serves as a consultant for the Singapore Police Co-Operative Society, offering expertise on criminal investigation topics to visiting police delegations from abroad.

Date of appointment as director: 15 January 2020

Mr. Lin is currently the Investment Manager at Haiyi Holdings Pte Ltd, where he is responsible for evaluating and executing the group’s investments across various industries and regions. He began his career in the financial industry in 2009 as an equity research analyst at Citigroup Global Markets, focusing on the offshore & marine sector. From 2010 to 2017, Mr. Lin held various roles in the Strategic Advisory and Mergers & Acquisitions team at DBS, where he provided advice on some of the most significant and high-profile public takeovers on the SGX. 

Mr. Lin graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours), majoring in Finance.

Lee Jin Yong
Lee Jin Yong

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of the Managers and is based in the U.S. He holds full executive responsibility for the business direction and day-to-day operations of the Managers.

With over 30 years of experience in hotel management and investment, Mr. Lee has closed more than $4.0 billion in hotel and real estate transactions. He founded Probity Investors, a boutique consultancy that assessed investment opportunities and raised capital from institutional investors for global and national private equity fund managers. Mr. Lee has held senior roles, including Chief Investment Officer at Thayer Lodging (now part of Brookfield) and Senior Vice President at HEI Hotels & Resorts. He has also worked in business development for hotel brands such as Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group (now part of InterContinental Hotels) and Marriott International. Mr. Lee began his career in hotel operations at the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco.

Mr. Lee holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. He was a long-time member of the Urban Land Institute, where he served on the U.S. Hotel Development Council, and is a lifetime member of the Cornell Hotel Society. Mr. Lee also holds a U.S. FINRA Series 82 license.

Gregory Sim
Gregory Sim

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Sim is the Chief Financial Officer of the Managers and is based in Singapore. He is responsible for all financial matters at ACRO-HT.

With 30 years of experience in financial and corporate planning, Mr. Sim has overseen real estate development, operations, and investments across Singapore, the USA, Malaysia, and Australia.

Prior to joining the Managers, Mr. Sim was the Deputy CEO of Haiyi Holdings Pte Ltd. Mr. Sim has held various senior management positions at listed companies such as Guccoland Limited and SingHaiyi Group Ltd. He also spent ten years at Far East Organization, where he oversaw the financial and reporting functions for the recurring income business group. He was involved in the initial public offering of Far East Hospitality Trust and was subsequently appointed as CFO and head of investor relations. Mr. Sim began his career as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche LLP, Singapore.

Mr. Sim graduated from Nanyang Technological University, of Singapore with a Bachelor of Accountancy and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

James S. Jung
James S. Jung

Director, Investments

Mr. Jung is the Investment Director of the Managers, based in the U.S., where he working closely with the CEO to identify and assess potential acquisitions, investments, and divestments to enhance the Trust's portfolio.

With over 20 years of experience in hospitality acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management, Mr. Jung has reviewed over $10 billion in asset valuations and played a key role in closing $2 billion in transactions in partnership with leading U.S. institutional capital providers, including Starwood Capital, Angelo Gordon, Walton Street Capital, Host Hotels, and Watermark Lodging Trust.

Before transitioning to real estate investments, Mr. Jung spent several years consulting and implementing data solutions across sectors such as gaming, lodging, banking, and consumer retail.

Mr. Jung holds a Master of Management in Hospitality with a concentration in Real Estate Finance from Cornell University, as well as an MBA and a Bachelor of Science from the University at Albany, State University of New York.

Cheryl Yong
Cheryl Yong

Assistant Director, Finance

Ms. Cheryl Yong is the Assistant Director, Finance of the Managers and is based in Singapore.

Ms. Yong assists the Chief Financial Officer with the finance function of ACRO-HT. She has 20 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting. Prior to joining the Managers, Ms. Yong was the Chief Financial Officer of ZACD Group Limited, an integrated asset manager listed in Hong Kong and headquartered in Singapore where she was involved in the successful IPO of the company and subsequently responsible for the group reporting and corporate finance function. She also held various finance and managerial positions in public listed companies including Banyan Tree Holdings, and MNCs including Johnson & Johnson. Ms. Yong began her career as an auditor with KPMG LLP Singapore.

Ms. Yong holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland, Australia and is a member of CPA Australia.

Dawn Lee
Dawn Lee

Investor Relations Manager

Ms. Lee is the Investor Relations Manager of the Managers. She serves as the primary contact for stapled securityholders and the investment community, managing public disclosures and overseeing sustainability reporting in line with ESG standards.

With over 15 years of experience in valuation and lease management, she previously worked at Colliers International and Jurong Town Corporation.

Ms. Lee holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science (Real Estate) from the National University of Singapore. She is a member of the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers and a licensed valuer with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.

Wendy Pek
Wendy Pek

Compliance Manager

Ms. Wendy Pek is the Compliance Manager of the Managers and is based in Singapore.

Ms. Pek is responsible for the risk management, compliance and regulatory matters of ACRO-HT. Ms. Pek has over 19 years of experience in accounting and finance industry.

Prior to joining the Managers, she also held various finance and managerial positions in real estate related and public-listed companies including Vistra, ARA LOGOS Logistics Trust, G. K. Goh Strategic Holdings, YTL Starhill Global Reit, CapitaMalls Asia and G. K. Goh Financial Services.

Ms. Pek holds an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK) qualification and is a fellow of ACCA. She is also a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

Chris Tan
Chris Tan

Finance Manager

Ms. Chris Tan is the Finance Manager of the Managers and is based in Singapore.

Ms. Tan is responsible for the finance and reporting functions of ACRO-HT. She has more than 13 years of work experience in audit and finance industry. Prior to joining the Managers, she served as the Finance Manager and Group Controller at Pearl Engineering Solutions, where she managed Singapore’s reporting and group finance functions. She has also held finance (listed companies) and audit roles at Chuan Hup Holdings, H2G Green, and Heng Lee Seng LLP.

Ms. Tan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Accounting degree from the University of Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia. She is also a Chartered Accountant with the Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Avion Hospitality ("Avion")

Avion is a third-party management platform that works with its vendor-partners to allow for the identification and implementation of operational initiatives to improve bottom-line hotel performance. Founded in 2022 by former senior Aimbridge executives, Avion is based in Dallas, Texas and operates hotels across the U.S.

They currently manage 8 of our Hyatt-branded hotels.

Chartwell is a fully integrated hotel operating company with over 20 years of operational expertise. As Chartwell also develops and owns hotel properties, they have a unique owner's perspective on generating stellar returns as a manager.

They currently manage our Home2 Suites by Hilton Colorado Springs South hotel and 3 of our Hyatt-branded hotels.

Concord is one of the premier operators in the hotel industry with 102 hotels currently under management, and over 30 years of operational expertise.

ARA Hotel Manager

ACRO-HT has engaged ARA US Hospitality Management, Inc ("Hotel Manager"). The Hotel Manager oversees the operations and management of the portfolio in the capacity of asset manager. The Hotel Manager uses third-party property managers (i.e., Aimbridge, Avion, Concord and Chartwell) for direct, day-to-day operations of the hotels. As the asset manager, the Hotel Manager manages the property managers on behalf of the Trust.
